About Metamorphosis
A practice shaped
around the problem.
A practice built around collaboration
We work globally with research teams, public institutions and project partners to turn evidence into decisions and shared priorities into action. Food systems are our starting point; the connections reach further.
Metamorphosis is an independent, founder-led practice built around collaboration. For each assignment, we draw on a network of researchers, practitioners and other specialists, bringing together the people and capabilities the challenge requires.
Our work connects different knowledges: research evidence, field realities, lived experience and the insights of stakeholders and partners. This helps us address each challenge from multiple perspectives, identify feasible and desirable ways forward, and seize the unexpected as an opportunity to shape new futures.

Research and advisory leadership
Costanza Conti
Costanza explores what it takes to turn promising ideas into lasting change—and why good intentions so often meet difficult realities.
Working across research, policy and implementation, she connects evidence with the institutional choices, relationships and practical conditions that shape what happens next. Her focus is on helping organisations find a direction when the path ahead is uncertain.
Her experience spans research and consultancy with WorldFish, CSIRO, FAO and CGIAR organisations, and policy research leadership at the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation. She is also a co-author of the 2025 EAT–Lancet Commission paper for healthy, just and sustainable food systems and the 2026 Global Nutrition Report contribution on connecting food and health systems under climate change.
She holds a PhD in Food System Transformation from the University of Reading. Across this work, she brings a close interest in how institutions evolve, how innovations take hold and how people can work together to make more sustainable futures possible.
